The Lippitt Morgan is a Morgan horse strain or lineage produced in the United States. It is a versatile horse family that can be traced back to the foundation sire Figure, named Justin Morgan. Its entire design conveys a sense of refinement and substance.

Many Vermonters desired to maintain the purebred Morgan horse population in the 1970s. Robert Lippitt Knight, the Green Mountain Stock Farm owner, was one significant figure. Mr. Lippitt Knight specialised in producing horses descended from Ethan Allen 2d 406, which is currently considered the purest strain of all the bloodline groupings, with no outcrossing to other breeds in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The offspring of these horses are now known as Lippitt Morgans, in honour of Mr. Lippitt Knight’s contribution to the creation of Morgan horses.

The Lippitt Club and the Lippitt Morgan Breeders Association, both membership-based organisations, were founded in 1973 and 1995 to preserve and promote the Lippitt Morgan breed.
